Benny the Bunny and the Rainbow Garden

Chapter 1: Healthy Eating Habits

In a sunny village called Crunchy Meadow, there lived a young rabbit named Benny. Benny had floppy ears, bouncy feet, and a very big problem: he only wanted to eat sweets.

"Cookies for breakfast!" he would cheer. "Candy for lunch! Cake for dinner!"

His mama would sigh and say, "Benny, your body needs more than sugar."

But Benny just wrinkled his nose at anything green, orange, or red. "Yuck! Vegetables are boring. Sweets are the best."

For a while, he felt fine. But soon, little things began to change. Benny felt tired by midmorning. He couldn't keep up in games of tag. His tummy ached, his teeth felt fuzzy, and when he tried to hop over the garden fence, his legs wobbled and he tumbled into the mud.

"Why am I so sleepy and slow?" he groaned.

That afternoon, while he lay under a tree, a soft, jingly voice called out, "Benny, would you like to see something wonderful?"

It was Grandma Hazel, a wise old hare who tended the biggest garden in Crunchy Meadow. She wore a straw hat with a daisy tucked in the brim.

Benny shrugged. "I guess."

She led him through a wooden gate, and his eyes grew wide. Rows and rows of plants stretched out before him in every color: red tomatoes, orange carrots, yellow corn, green peas, purple cabbages, and blueberries as plump as marbles.
