Finn the Fox and the Lantern Friends
Chapter 1: Good Friends
In a cozy woodland called Starlight Glen, there lived a young fox named Finn. Finn was clever and quick, and he wanted more than anything to be popular.
One day, a group of older foxes called the Swagger Pack invited him to join them. They were loud and flashy, and everyone in the glen knew their names.
"Come hang out with us, Finn," said Rex, the leader. "We'll show you how to have real fun."
Finn's tail wagged with excitement. "Really? Me?"
At first, it was thrilling. But soon Finn noticed something odd about the Swagger Pack.
They laughed at other animals instead of with them. "Look at slow old Tilly the turtle!" Rex would snicker. "What a slowpoke!" And Finn laughed along, even though his tummy felt funny.
They only talked about themselves. When Finn tried to share that he'd learned a new song, Rex yawned. "Boring. Don't be such a baby."
Worst of all, they wanted Finn to play tricks on others. "Hide Wren's acorns," Rex whispered one day. "It'll be hilarious."
"But that's her winter food," Finn said.
"Do it, or you're out of the pack," said Rex.
