Hazel and Hugo and the One Last Acorn

Chapter 1: Conflict Resolution

In a golden forest called Oakenshade, there lived two squirrel friends named Hazel and Hugo. They climbed trees together, shared secrets together, and every autumn they gathered acorns side by side.

But one crisp morning, they found something that changed everything: one enormous, perfectly round, shiny acorn, sitting alone at the base of the old oak.

"I found it first!" cried Hazel, pouncing on it.

"No, I saw it first!" said Hugo, grabbing the other side.

"It's mine!"

"It's MINE!"

They tugged and pulled until, CRACK! the acorn rolled out of their paws, bounced down the hill, and splashed into the creek, where it floated away.

Both squirrels stood frozen. Then they turned on each other.

"Now look what you did!" shouted Hazel.

"You did it, you pulled too hard!" yelled Hugo.
