Little Red Riding Hood and the Brave Little Voice

Chapter 1: Brave Girl

On the morning Little Red Riding Hood met the wolf, she had three things in her basket: warm soup, fresh bread, and a honey jar that kept rolling into the bread.

“Stay still,” she whispered to it. “You’re making crumbs.”

Her mother smiled and tucked a cloth around the jar.

“Grandma’s feeling poorly. This should cheer her up.”

Red pulled on her favourite hood. It was bright as a robin’s breast, with a crooked pocket she had sewn herself.

“Straight along the woodland path,” Mum reminded her.

“I know. Past the oak, over the bridge, blue door.”

“And if something feels wrong?”

Red thought. “Find someone I know. Ask for help.”

“Even if someone says you’re being rude.”
