Milo the Monkey and the Magic Words
Chapter 1: Polite Words Are Magic Words
In a leafy jungle called Banana Bend, there lived a lively little monkey named Milo. Milo could swing from vine to vine faster than anyone, and he could climb the tallest tree in a flash. But Milo had a habit that made his friends frown.
He never used polite words.
"Give me that banana!" Milo would shout.
"Move over, I want to sit there!" he would grumble.
And when someone helped him, he just grabbed what he needed and scampered off without a word.
One sunny morning, Milo was hungry. He spotted Ellie the elephant carrying a big basket of juicy mangoes.
"Hey, Ellie! Gimme a mango!" he demanded.
Ellie paused. She looked at Milo, then at her basket. "Hmm," she said slowly. "I think my mangoes are only for friends who ask nicely."
"But I'm hungry NOW!" Milo huffed, stomping his foot.
Ellie shook her big head and walked on.
