No One Believed My Reflection Was Alive
Chapter 1: Alive Reflection
No one believed me when I said my reflection was alive.
At first, my friends simply stared at me. Then one of them laughed so hard that he nearly spilled his drink.
“Grow up, dude,” he said. “You’re twenty-four, not five.”
The others joined in. To them, it was another ridiculous story—something they could bring up whenever they wanted to embarrass me.
“Be careful,” one of them joked. “Your bathroom mirror might attack you tonight.”
Their laughter followed me even after I left.
I understood why they reacted that way. If someone had told me the same thing a few months earlier, I probably would have laughed too. A living reflection sounded like a childhood fear, the kind born from staring into a dark mirror for too long.
But I knew what I had seen.
The thing in the mirror looked like me, but it wasn’t me.
I couldn’t remember the exact day it started. My childhood memories were normal. When I smiled at a mirror, the boy inside smiled back. When I raised my hand, he raised his. There had never been anything strange about him.
