I live alone, so when I found the first note, I assumed someone was messing with me.

It was a small piece of white paper sitting on my kitchen table.

It said:

“You forgot to lock the back door.”

I immediately checked it.

The door was unlocked.

I knew I had locked it before leaving for work that morning.

I checked the windows, the garage, and every room in the house. Nothing seemed out of place.

I told myself I must have forgotten.

The next night, another note appeared.
