The Letter She Never Sent
Chapter 1: The Letter She Never Sent
Sophia had written many letters to Noah, but she had never sent a single one.
Their relationship had ended three years earlier, quietly and painfully. There had been no dramatic goodbye, no final argument, and no moment when either of them said they had stopped caring. Life had simply taken them in different directions.
Noah wanted to build his career in another city, while Sophia wanted to stay close to her family. At first, they promised distance would not change anything. They called every night, shared photographs of their days, and counted the weeks until they could meet again.
But slowly, the calls became shorter.
Messages received late replies. Important moments were missed. Small misunderstandings became bigger because neither of them was there to explain things face to face.
One day, Sophia waited for Noah’s call on their anniversary. She waited until midnight.
The phone never rang.
The next morning, Noah apologized. He had been busy with work and had completely forgotten the date. Sophia said she understood, but something inside her changed. It was not because he forgot. It was because she suddenly realized how lonely she had become while trying to hold onto a relationship that existed mostly through a screen.
A few weeks later, they ended things.
Sophia told everyone she was fine.
