The Little Owl and the Unfinished Song
Chapter 1: Once Owl
In a hollow oak at the edge of a wood lived a little owl named Oren.
He had round eyes, soft feathers, and a song he had never quite finished.
Every evening, his older sister called from a high branch.
Hoo-hooo.
His father answered from farther away.
Hoo-hooo.
Oren took a breath.
“Hoo—”
Then his voice made a tiny squeak.
He shut his beak.
