The Rabbits That Changed Everything

Chapter 1: The Rabbits That Changed Everything

Michelle had lived in the same quiet neighborhood for almost ten years. It was the kind of place where nothing unusual ever happened. The streets were clean, the houses looked almost identical, and neighbors mostly spent their days following the same routines.

Every morning, people walked their dogs, checked their mailboxes, and went to work.

Michelle liked that.

She was not someone who enjoyed big crowds or unexpected changes. After losing her parents in an accident and going through difficult years in her personal life, she found comfort in simple things.

Her two dogs, Reginald and Midge, were her closest companions.

Reginald was an older Airedale with a calm personality. Michelle often felt like he understood her better than most people did. Midge, a Wheaten Terrier, was completely different. She was energetic, playful, and always excited to see Michelle.

Their little family was enough for her. Until the rabbits appeared.

At first, Michelle did not think much about them.

Jackrabbits had always lived around the neighborhood. Seeing one or two outside was normal, especially during winter when their white fur blended into the snow.

But one afternoon, something felt different.
