The Three Flames and the Children of the First World

Chapter 1: Difference is Beautiful

Before there were forests whispering in the wind or stars sparkling in the endless night, there was only a vast, quiet ocean stretching farther than anyone could imagine.

Floating above those waters lived three siblings: Midi, Mayi, and Inalarti. They were powerful gods, but more than anything, they were curious. They wondered what could exist beyond the empty waves and what wonders might grow if they worked together.

“One day, this silence will become a song,” said Inalarti, the youngest of the three.

So the siblings joined hands and began to create.

Midi lifted handfuls of earth from the deep waters and shaped them into valleys, hills, and wide lands where life could grow. Mayi painted the skies above, filling them with clouds that drifted like ships and stars that shone like tiny lanterns. Inalarti brought warmth and energy, creating fire that danced brightly and gave light to the world.

Together, they planted forests filled with tall trees, fields covered in soft grass, and rivers that traveled like silver ribbons across the land. They created animals of every kind, from tiny creatures that hid beneath leaves to great beings that walked proudly beneath the sun.

When their work was complete, the three siblings looked at the beautiful world they had made.

“It is wonderful,” said Midi.

“But something is missing,” said Mayi.

The gods realized that the world needed someone who could explore it, care for it, and add their own stories to its endless chapters.
