Fidget the Mouse and the Flying Machine
Fidget the mouse has a head full of plans for a flying machine and a terror of failing, so he redraws the wings while the sky outside stays empty.
Failure Is Part Of Success
In a busy little town called Cheddarville, there lived a young mouse named Fidget. Fidget had twitchy whiskers, ink-stained paws, and a head full of big ideas. His biggest idea of all was this: he wanted to build a flying machine.
But Fidget had a secret fear. He was terrified of failing.
So he drew plans. Then he redrew them. Then he drew them again. For weeks, he sat at his desk, erasing and perfecting and polishing, until the paper wore thin.
"It must be perfect before I build it," he told himself. "If it fails, everyone will laugh."
His friend Poppy the sparrow often flew past his window. "Fidget, are you ever going to build the thing?"
"Soon," said Fidget. "I just need one more week to check the wings."
