Pim the Little Ant and the Flood Under the Hill
Pim is the smallest ant in the colony beneath Dewfall, teased for noticing raindrops, until something begins to rise under the hill that no one else sees.
A little ant everyone laughs at ends up saving the whole colony
Deep beneath a mossy hill in a meadow called Dewfall, there lived a great colony of ants. It had tunnels and chambers, nurseries and storerooms, and thousands of busy workers who marched in neat lines from sunrise to sunset.
And among them was Pim, the smallest ant in the whole colony.
Pim was so small that when the other ants carried crumbs, he could barely lift a speck. His legs were short. His antennae were a little bit crooked. And he had a habit that made everyone giggle: he stopped to look at things.
"Look, a raindrop on a leaf!" he would say. "It's like a tiny mirror!"
"Pim, keep moving!" the others would call. "We have work to do!"
"Pim the Peeker," they teased. "Always daydreaming. Always dawdling."
